The upcoming posts on this blog will center around the ideals of feminism from history and today as told by me, Olivia Thelon. As a young female in today’s society gender inequality is something presented to me on a daily basis. I believe this blog will be a great outlet to share my experiences as well as share empowerment from the experiences of other famous feminist icons. My interest in this topic sparks from my developmental years. While growing into the young adult that I am currently, I have encountered, learned, and experienced events that I now know today as gender inequality. Over the years, I have made it a priority of mine to stay active and keep informed in the movement to gender equality and thus, propel the purpose of this blog. I also believe that as a female working to become a self sustaining citizen of today’s society, I should know my rights and history as a woman and share my knowledge with as many individuals as possible. In the following weeks, this blog will include historical content of feminism from the past, current events, information on events as “did you know” facts. I hope to keep you, my reader, inspired and informed and together we can make a change.
